Overview
The EBX-2169 is the EBX family's flagship 12 V BCM with integrated PEPS. Where the EBX-2305 targets new-energy programs with RF integrated for RKE but no full PEPS / one-touch-start stack, the EBX-2169 is the right tier when the program wants passive-entry / passive-start, full body-electronics control and the RF receive front-end all on one ECU. The integrated approach removes the BCM ↔ PEPS ↔ RKE-receiver inter-module CAN traffic that a three-box stack would generate, and reduces the harness BOM by removing the inter-box wiring.
For how passive entry and push-to-start work in general, and when a programme is better served by a dedicated PEPS controller (such as the 24 V EBX-964) than an integrated BCM, see the PEPS keyless entry guide.
Electrically the module operates on a 9–16 VDC main feed with ±1 V ground-potential tolerance (the controller keeps working through chassis-ground rise during high-side current events) and ≤ 3.5 mA quiescent current. Rated operating current is 500 mA on the controller side — the high-current body actuators are driven from external relay channels routed through the harness. The RF front-end is a 433.92 MHz receiver with both ASK and FSK modulation supported, a transmitter pairing band of −35 to +10 dBm and receive sensitivity better than −105 dBm, giving the standard build a 15 m line-of-sight remote-key range.

Engineering details
The EBX-2169 is a high-density BCM with five sealed harness connectors landing ~178 pins on the harness. The connector layout follows the typical premium-vehicle BCM convention: J1 (52 pins) carries the high-density I/O and CAN backbone; J2 (48 pins) carries the lighting and HVAC drive channels; J3 (22 pins) carries the smart-key / PEPS antenna links; J4 (32 pins) carries the wiper / washer / door-actuator drive; J5 (24 pins) carries the dedicated power-supply and ground rail set.
- Wide ground-potential tolerance: ±1 V on the chassis-ground reference — the controller keeps working through chassis-ground rise during high-side current events
- Low quiescent current: ≤ 3.5 mA on the standard build, sized to keep the parking-current budget under control even on a premium-vehicle program with many wake-up sources active
- Integrated RF receive front-end: 433.92 MHz with ASK and FSK modulation supported, sensitivity better than −105 dBm at the receive end; the transmitter pairing band runs −35 to +10 dBm for OEM-paired smart-key fobs
- PEPS antenna stack: LF antennas (interior + handle + bumper, per program) routed through the J3 connector; RF receive on the integrated front-end
- Five Tyco harness connectors on the standard build — full reference P/N in the connector table below
- IP5K0 per GB/T 4280 — dust-protected only (equivalent of IP5X under the IEC scheme, with no liquid-ingress test performed), suitable for under-dash / behind-bulkhead in-cab installation; specify a sealed-connector variant at quotation if the programme requires chassis-mounted IP67

Comparison with other Youlai BCM modules
The EBX BCM family covers two main voltage classes (12 V and 24 V) and several integration patterns. The EBX-2169 is the flagship 12 V BCM-with-PEPS tier:
| Model | System | Pattern | Smart-key | Pin density |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| EBX-2169 | 12 V (9–16 VDC) | Full BCM + integrated PEPS | PEPS + RKE + RF receive | ~178 pin (5 connectors) |
| EBX-2305 | 12 V (9–16 VDC) | BCM + integrated RF (new-energy) | RKE / PKE (no one-touch start) | ~120 pin (3 connectors) |
| EBX-2313 | 12 V class | Light-truck BCM (pure logic) | RKE only | ~100 pin (5 connectors) |
| EBX-953 | 24 V (18–32 VDC) | BCM + integrated fuse/relay | Optional | ~145 pin (9 connectors) |
The EBX-2169 is the right choice for a 12 V passenger-vehicle or premium-commercial-vehicle program that wants the BCM, the RKE receiver and the PEPS sub-system unified on one ECU — particularly when the program includes one-touch start, passive entry and the full alarm-and-reminder set typical of a premium key-fob experience. For new-energy programs that only need RKE / PKE (no one-touch start), the smaller EBX-2305 is the closer match.
Manufacturing & testing
Built under IATF 16949 with APQP project planning and a PPAP package available for OEM programmes. Every unit is end-of-line functional-tested before packaging — CAN bus health, the integrated RF 433.92 MHz receiver sensitivity (ASK and FSK), the PEPS LF antenna challenge / response loop, quiescent current under all wake-up profiles, the lighting / lock / window / wiper / mirror driver matrix and the rear-defogger / TPMS interface are all checked. Environmental validation and EMC pre-compliance screening in our in-house lab follows the OEM EMC profile.
