Overview

The EBX-952 is the smallest 24 V dedicated central control module in the EBX family — a single-connector controller that owns central locking, immobiliser interlocks, RKE remote-keyless entry and (optionally) smartphone-app remote control on commercial-vehicle programs. Where a full BCM such as the EBX-953 or the EBX-954 covers the whole body-electronics scope (lighting, HVAC, windows, mirrors, multiple CAN buses), the EBX-952 is the right tier when the program only needs the central-locking / anti-theft / RKE slice and wants a compact dedicated controller alongside the existing BCM or in place of a separate immobiliser ECU.

Electrically the module operates across an 18–32 VDC range with quiescent current ≤ 1.5 mA, validated against OEM-class EMC requirements (the validation profile of a benchmark vehicle program is available on request). Four-layer hardware protection covers each output channel. The output bank is dimensioned for direct relay coil drive (3 high-side + 1 low-side relay-grade channels) plus two chip-level high-side outputs for low-current loads, with a LIN bus typically allocated to the smart-key / immobiliser sub-network and an integrated RF antenna for RKE remote-keyless entry.

Integrated functions

The EBX-952 covers the central-locking / anti-theft / remote-control function group that is often spread across two or three discrete controllers (BCM + immobiliser + RKE receiver):

  • Turn-signal control. Hazard-lamp and turn-signal drive (left / right), including RKE-triggered locking flash feedback.
  • Central locking. Door lock / unlock drive (electric central locking) with anti-theft interlock; horn-drive for the locking confirmation chirp.
  • Immobiliser & anti-theft. Anti-theft / immobiliser signal acquisition and forwarding to the engine ECU over the LIN sub-network (smart-key challenge / response).
  • Ignition & speed interlocks. Ignition-lock signal acquisition and forwarding; vehicle-speed signal acquisition for speed-locking (auto-lock above a threshold) and tail-door electric-lock interlock.
  • Airbag / safety signal interlock. Airbag-crash signal input for automatic unlock after a crash event.
  • Tail-door signal. Tail-door open / close signal acquisition with optional drive output.
  • Remote control. RKE remote-keyless entry (RF receive on the integrated antenna) plus configurable smartphone-app remote control over a paired BT / cellular front-end module.
  • Vehicle network. 1 LIN bus typically allocated to the smart-key / immobiliser sub-network on the standard build.

Engineering details

The EBX-952 occupies a 95 × 92 mm footprint with a 24.5 mm overall height (including connector profile) — about one third of the footprint of a full-size 24 V BCM. Two M7 mounting bushings on the side ears land the unit on the cab loom support bracket or the steering-column bracket; a PA66-GF15 upper / lower housing wraps the FR-4 PCBA.

  • Four-layer hardware protection on every output: over-voltage cut, over-current limit, short-circuit cut-off and over-temperature de-rating
  • Single-connector harness footprint: one 20-pin AMP harness-side housing (reference AMP 368511-1) lands all power, ground, LIN, inputs and driver outputs — simplest possible harness drop on the cab loom
  • 3 relay-grade high-side outputs plus 1 relay-grade low-side output: direct drive for door-lock motors, horn relay and turn-signal lamps without an external relay block
  • 2 chip-level high-side outputs for low-current loads (status LED, body-builder accessory channel)
  • 2 analog inputs (e.g. battery-voltage sense, fuel-level acquisition) plus 8 digital / switch inputs for the door / hood / trunk magnetic switches and ignition / brake / clutch signal taps
  • 1 integrated RF receive antenna for RKE remote-keyless entry; specific RF front-end confirmed per program (e.g. 315 MHz or 433 MHz family)
  • Configurable app-remote channel (option) over a paired BT / cellular front-end module — engagement model confirmed per program (challenge / response or token-based)
  • IP53 sealing suitable for cab-mounted installation; specify a sealed-connector variant at quotation if the program requires chassis-mounted IP67

Mechanical layout & connector field

Mechanical layout for EBX-952 — top-down and side engineering views with overall envelope 95 × 92 × 24.5 mm. A single 20-pin harness-side housing lands the entire I/O footprint on the bottom edge; two M7 mounting bushings sit on the side ears (with a 9 mm bushing width and a 7 mm corner radius for the mount-arm clearance). The compact single-connector form factor is the unit's main differentiator vs. the larger EBX BCMs.

Mating connector

Current-production EBX-952 housings land on one 20-pin AMP harness-side housing. The reference P/N below documents the connector on the current production build; the matching wire-side seals, terminal P/N and harness colour code are confirmed against the customer harness drawing at quotation.

Comparison with other Youlai BCM / control modules

The EBX family covers a wide range of body-electronics use cases. The EBX-952 is the compact dedicated-controller tier:

ModelSystemPatternFootprintRKE / App
EBX-95224 V (18–32 VDC)Compact central-control (locking / anti-theft / RKE)95 × 92 mmIntegrated RKE + App remote (option)
EBX-95424 V (18–32 VDC)Pure-logic BCM (high I/O density)193.6 × 157.8 mmRKE-ready (reserved antenna)
EBX-95324 V (18–32 VDC)Integrated fuse/relay BCM285.8 × 159.8 mmOptional
EBX-230512 V (9–16 VDC)Pure-logic BCM + integrated RFCompact, new-energy classIntegrated RKE / PKE

The EBX-952 is the right choice when the program needs a compact, dedicated 24 V central-control / immobiliser / RKE controller alongside the existing BCM, or as a single-point central-locking solution on entry-level commercial-vehicle programs. For a full 24 V BCM with high I/O density, look at EBX-954; for BCM + integrated fuse / relay in one box, look at EBX-953; for a 12 V new-energy program with PKE smart-key, look at EBX-2305.

Manufacturing & testing

Built under IATF 16949 with APQP project planning and a PPAP package available for OEM programmes. Every unit is end-of-line functional-tested before packaging — LIN bus health, RF receive sensitivity, quiescent current, the door-locking / horn / turn-signal driver matrix and the immobiliser signal path are all checked. Environmental validation and EMC pre-compliance screening in our in-house lab is run when the programme requires it; benchmark OEM-class EMC validation profiles are available on request.
