Overview
The PBX-2202 is a slim 4.6-inch cluster display that brings smart-cockpit information density to commercial vehicles, new-energy commercial-vehicle programmes and OEM custom cockpit projects. It runs on a 9–32 VDC power supply, so it drops cleanly into both 12 V and 24 V commercial-vehicle wiring without an external converter.
The panel is a true IPS LCD at 960×320 — wide-viewing-angle, high contrast and readable at the kind of off-axis angles a side-mounted cluster has to live with. Auto-rotate switches the on-screen layout between vertical and horizontal automatically, so the unit can be installed in either orientation depending on the dashboard programme.
What it shows
PBX-2202 covers the full daily-driver cluster brief and a few extras a HUD-paired cockpit needs:
- Driving data. Vehicle speed, current gear / drive mode, fuel level or battery state-of-charge, time and ambient temperature.
- Navigation. Maps mirrored from the driver's phone via Bluetooth phone-link or wireless CarPlay; no separate head unit required.
- HUD pairing. Pairs with the PBX-series HUD when the programme uses a dual-display cockpit, or runs standalone when it does not.
- Auto-rotate. Layout flips between vertical and horizontal automatically based on installation orientation.
Engineering details
Mechanically the PBX-2202 is a slim, dash-mountable cluster — see the OEM spec sheet below for the panel dimensions. Operating temperature is −40 to +85 °C with a wider −40 to +95 °C storage range, suitable for vehicles parked outdoors year-round in either cold-climate or tropical-summer environments.
Manufacturing & testing
Built under IATF 16949 with APQP project planning and a PPAP package available for OEM programmes. Every unit is end-of-line functional-tested before packaging — backlight uniformity, panel resolution, Bluetooth pairing and the auto-rotate sensor are all verified. Environmental validation and EMC pre-compliance screening in our in-house lab is run when the programme requires it.
Choosing the PBX-2202: compact smart cluster, plateau cluster, or a HUD
The PBX-2202 is the entry point of the Youlai cluster range and the unit most programmes start from: a compact 4.6-inch IPS strip that carries the full daily-driver readout, adds phone-mirrored navigation over Bluetooth or wireless CarPlay, and drops into both 12 V and 24 V cabs on its 9–32 VDC supply without a converter. Auto-rotate lets the same unit serve a vertical or horizontal dashboard slot, so it suits light-commercial, new-energy and custom OEM cockpits where panel space is tight and a connected, software-styled cluster is wanted over a fixed mechanical dial pack.
Where the programme is harsher or higher-spec, step up within the family rather than over-specifying the PBX-2202. For extreme-cold or high-altitude duty and electric / hybrid drivetrains — −45 °C self-heating, 5000 m altitude and dedicated EV indicators — the PBX-2301 8-inch plateau / EV cluster is the right tool. And where the driver needs eye-level information without the eye-down glance a cluster requires, a head-up display complements rather than replaces the cluster: the windscreen-projection PBX-961 W-HUD or the entry-level combiner PBX-2203 C-HUD — the PBX-2202 pairs with a HUD or runs standalone. For how to size and specify a cluster, see the instrument cluster guide; for the cluster-versus-HUD decision, the commercial vehicle HUD guide covers the trade-off, and the HUD vs digital cluster comparison sets the cluster and the two HUD types side by side.
How to ask
The PBX-2202 belongs to the Displays & HUD family. To request the dashboard mounting drawing, custom UI artwork or a HUD-paired cockpit configuration, please use the contact page with your target vehicle programme, expected annual volume and key technical requirements (mounting orientation, custom UI yes/no, HUD pairing yes/no, connector preference). Drawings welcome.
