Sourcing CAN bus switch panels from China
This page is for OEM teams sourcing a CAN bus switch panel manufacturer in China. It covers the multiplexed switch panels, keypads and rotary controllers we build and how they are specified, validated and produced. Every panel is quoted against your key layout and message matrix rather than shipped as a fixed catalogue part — send a panel sketch and a switch list and we reply within 24 hours.
If you are evaluating Chinese sources for a cab dashboard, an upfit control panel or an off-road console, the detail below is what we share with engineering teams during early supplier qualification. For the engineering background — how multiplexed switching works and how to write the specification — see the CAN bus switch panel buyer guide.
Who Youlai is
Changsha Youlai Electronic Technology Co., Ltd. is an IATF 16949 certified OEM electronics manufacturer based in Changsha, Hunan, China. Since 2014 we have supplied vehicle electronics — switch panels and keypads, body control, power distribution, displays and sensors — to leading Chinese commercial-vehicle and construction-machinery OEMs including SANY, XCMG, ZOOMLION, SINOTRUK, Shaanxi Heavy Truck, YUTONG, FOTON and BYD.
Our manufacturing footprint is 3 SMT automated lines, 1 THT automated flow line and 4 standard assembly lines, supported by an in-house environmental laboratory with EMC pre-compliance equipment. The quality system is certified to IATF 16949, with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 alongside.
What we make in CAN switch panels
The EDK family covers the driver-facing switching of a commercial vehicle, from a full dashboard rocker grid to a compact rotary HMI. Every model below is a published platform we build to your OEM specification:
- Multi-key CAN rocker panels — the EDK‑907 reports an eight-position rocker grid to the body control module over a single CAN pair, with a 24 V hard-wire backup channel held on the one safety-critical key (typically hazard) and IP53 cab-interior sealing. Key legend, backlight colour and active key count are configured per programme.
- Rotary and keypad controllers — the EDK‑2507 brings four buttons, four directional side-pushes and a stepped rotary encoder into one sealed IP66 node on a 4-pin Deutsch connector, rated to 100,000 cycles with vibration and shock validation — for menu-style control or more exposed cab and off-road dashboard positions.
- LIN-bus and low-speed panels — door, mirror and simple keypad clusters run on a single-wire LIN bus where local wiring cost matters more than bandwidth, built alongside the CAN family and chosen per panel rather than across the whole cab.
- Custom legends, layouts and message matrices — key count and grid, momentary versus latching behaviour, backlight scheme, icon set and the CAN identifier map are all configurable on an existing EDK platform rather than drawn from zero.
The full Switches & Sensors catalogue, including the model matrix, is on the Switches and Sensors overview page; buyers consolidating a whole program can also source body control, power distribution, displays and sensors from the same supplier across the four product families.
How we work with overseas OEM buyers
- Briefing. Share target vehicle / machine, expected annual volume, working voltage (12 V / 24 V), the function and key list, switch type (rocker, momentary, latching, rotary), communication protocol (CAN 2.0 / CAN-FD / J1939 or LIN) and baud rate, backlight scheme, IP rating, temperature range, mounting cut-out and connector preference.
- Selection or custom. We propose the closest standard EDK platform. If your program needs a different key count, legend, sealing class, bus matrix or connector, we quote a custom variant on the same platform rather than starting from zero.
- Message matrix ownership. We agree early on who owns the CAN identifier and bit map — the OEM supplying the key map, or a matrix adapted from an existing design. This decision drives lead time more than any hardware line item.
- Sample & validation. Engineering samples for standard variants, with validation supported by our in-house environmental lab and EMC pre-compliance — key-force calibration, actuation-life cycling, temperature and vibration, and a full CAN packet round-trip against your body-control simulator.
- Mass production. SMT / THT automated lines, in-process inspection, end-of-line functional and CAN-message test, and traceable batch records, with a drawing package, BOM and IATF documentation on handoff. Region-specific approvals (e-Mark / ECE, SASO, FCC / DOT) available upon project requirement.
Why OEMs choose us as their China switch-panel partner
- Engineering-led, not catalogue-only. Every EDK panel is a project we own end-to-end, from PCB and key-mechanism design through bus integration. Custom legends, layouts and message matrices are routine, not an exception.
- Protocol depth. CAN, CAN-FD, J1939 and LIN are routine across the EDK line — see how a panel reports key states and how the body module acts on them in the CAN bus switch panel guide.
- Mechanical durability. Rated actuation life is specified per key — 30,000 cycles on the EDK-907 rocker grid, 100,000 on the EDK-2507 rotary controller — and tested, because the part the driver touches thousands of times is the one that has to last a fleet duty cycle.
- Sealing range. From IP53 cab-interior panels to IP66 controllers for exposed or off-road positions; the design rationale behind IP65 / IP67 enclosures is documented, not assumed.
- Full product-family coverage. Buyers consolidating the electronics side of a program get switching, body control, power distribution and displays from one supplier — see the four product families.
- Direct contact. No call centres, no CRM bots — sales mobile +86 134 6767 4786, also on WhatsApp.
Get a quote moving
Send a panel sketch, a function and key list, and the bus matrix if you have one to [email protected] or message us on WhatsApp. That lets us map your requirement onto an existing EDK platform or tell you honestly where a custom layout is needed. Typical reply within 24 hours during China business hours (UTC+8). NDA on request.
