Sourcing displays and HUD from China
This page is for OEM teams sourcing a commercial-vehicle display and HUD manufacturer in China. It covers the instrument clusters, head-up displays and CAN bus displays we make and how they are built and validated. Every unit is quoted against your specification rather than shipped as a fixed catalogue part — send drawings and we reply within 24 hours.
If you are evaluating Chinese sources for a commercial-vehicle cockpit or instrumentation program, the detail below is what we share with engineering teams during early supplier qualification. For the engineering background — what each display type does and how to write the specification — see the displays and HUD technical guide.
Who Youlai is
Changsha Youlai Electronic Technology Co., Ltd. is an IATF 16949 certified OEM electronics manufacturer based in Changsha, Hunan, China. Since 2014 we have supplied vehicle electronics — instrument clusters, displays, body control, power distribution, switching and sensors — to leading Chinese commercial-vehicle and construction-machinery OEMs including SANY, XCMG, ZOOMLION, SINOTRUK, Shaanxi Heavy Truck, YUTONG, FOTON and BYD.
Our manufacturing footprint is 3 SMT automated lines, 1 THT automated flow line and 4 standard assembly lines, supported by an in-house environmental laboratory with EMC pre-compliance equipment. The quality system is certified to IATF 16949, with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 alongside.
What we make in Displays & HUD
The PBX family covers the driver-facing instrumentation of a commercial vehicle, from the cluster behind the wheel to the head-up display on the windscreen. Every model below is a published platform we build to your OEM specification:
- Head-up displays — PBX‑961 (windscreen W-HUD with dual free-form mirror optics) and PBX‑2203 (compact combiner C-HUD) put speed, navigation and warnings in the driver's forward view. For how the optics and data path work, see the commercial vehicle HUD guide.
- Digital and combined instrument clusters — PBX‑2301 (high-altitude / new-energy combined cluster with dual CAN including CAN-FD) and PBX‑2202 (compact 4.6-inch smart cluster) read the whole vehicle off the bus. The selection logic between cluster types is covered in the instrument cluster guide.
- CAN bus and multi-function displays — bus-driven cabin displays that render gauges, camera feeds and status pages from CAN / J1939 messages, configured per program.
- CMS electronic mirrors and surround-view — camera-monitor mirror systems and surround-view platforms are available as system-level solutions, configured by camera count, mounting geometry and project specification rather than sold as a single fixed part.
The full Displays & HUD catalogue, including the model matrix, is on the Displays and HUD overview page; buyers consolidating a whole program can also source body control, power distribution, switches and sensors from the same supplier across the four product families.
How we work with overseas OEM buyers
- Briefing. Share target vehicle / platform, expected annual volume, working voltage (12 V / 24 V), display size and resolution, the data the screen has to show, communication protocol (CAN 2.0 / CAN-FD / J1939, LVDS for camera feeds), brightness and sunlight-readability targets, IP rating, temperature range, mounting and connector preference.
- Selection or custom. We propose the closest standard PBX model. If your program needs a different screen size, optical geometry, bracket, software theme or bus matrix, we quote a custom variant on the same PBX platform rather than starting from zero.
- Software and graphics ownership. We agree early on who owns the UI theme, the warning-lamp set and the bus matrix — a configurable software build or a fully custom graphics package. This decision drives lead time more than any hardware line item.
- Sample & validation. Engineering samples for standard variants, with validation supported by our in-house environmental lab and EMC pre-compliance — temperature cycling, vibration, sunlight loading and bus conformance.
- Mass production. SMT / THT automated lines, in-process inspection, end-of-line functional and display test, and traceable batch records, with a drawing package, BOM and IATF documentation on handoff. Region-specific approvals (e-Mark / ECE, UN-R46 / R151 for camera-monitor systems, SASO, FCC / DOT) available upon project requirement.
Why OEMs choose us as their China display partner
- Engineering-led, not catalogue-only. Every PBX model is a project we own end-to-end, from PCB and optical design through bus integration. Custom variants are routine, not an exception.
- Bus and graphics depth. CAN-FD, J1939 and LVDS camera feeds are routine across the PBX line — see how a cluster reads the vehicle in the instrument cluster guide and how a HUD sources its data in the HUD guide.
- Full product-family coverage. Buyers consolidating the electronics side of a program get displays, body control, power distribution, switches and sensors from one supplier — see the four product families.
- Cabin and exposed-mount sealing. Where a camera or monitor mounts outside the cab, the design rationale behind IP65 / IP67 enclosures is documented, not assumed.
- Direct contact. No call centres, no CRM bots — sales mobile +86 134 6767 4786, also on WhatsApp.
